The production of mold steel in China has developed rapidly, from scratch, from imitation to independent research and development. In just 50 years, China's mold steel production has jumped to the forefront of the world. The vast majority of foreign standard steel grades and mold steel grades in scientific research and trial production are basically produced and developed in China. Through several rounds of steel grade rectification and standard revision, a relatively complete series of mold steel with Chinese characteristics has been initially formed. In the production technology of mold steel, double vacuum smelting, electric slag remelting, high-temperature homogenization treatment of steel ingots, multi-directional forging or multi-directional rolling with large reduction, combined forging and precision forging with large hydraulic press, and vacuum annealing, the purity, microstructure and isotropic properties of steel are further improved.
